The Art of Noise

The Art of Noise is a poster about the ‘Art of Noise’ Manifesto (Futurist manifesto written in 1913 by Luigi Russolo).

Russolo calls for an infinite expansion of musical vocabulary and sensibility in coordination with that of industrial machinery—“We must enlarge and enrich more and more the domain of musical sounds”—envisioning a machine-based music that would dispense entirely with inherited forms.

The Poster is a visual representation of the manifesto, an attempt to deconstruct the visual outcomes (soundtrack, sound noises) of a recorded urban soundscape in space and time on a 2D surface.
